Tummy Fat Burning Foods

When I started this journey I was 53kg and a week and half later I am 50kg by simple following the steps that Dr Oz recommended, but sadly I haven’t lost any inches in my tummy. Other than that I am very pleased with this method and like it because it hasn’t really stopped me from eating what I want. This week I wanted to start on tummy exercises and I’m hoping that will help me lose fat on my tummy area rather than other parts of my body. I will explain more about my routine on my next posts because to day I wanted to talk about Tummy fat burning foods.

Just a quick summary for those who didn’t read my last posts. The 4 best foods to take everyday to lose weight are green tea with

For anyone who wants to step up or speed up the process of losing tummy fat and add onto the ones I mentioned above. I wanted to introduce 5 tummy fat burning foods which you might also want to add to your diet.

5 Foods

  • Oatmeal is high in fiber which will boost the metabolism, make stomach fuller for longer and reduce appetite. They are also easy to digest which helps reduce bloating. Oats also contains some anti oxidants and minerals that help to kill good amounts of toxins.


  • Eggs are an excellent source of protein which is very efficient in burning fat. Protein not only helps burn fat but it helps build muscles. Eating eggs can help improve the results of your workout.


  • Nuts can keep you fuller for a longer time as the oil in them keeps you hydrated and filled up longer.



  • Fish is full of omega 3 which help prevent stress chemicals that promote fat abs. Studies have shown that protein makes you feel full and your body burns more calories digesting protein than carbs and fat. People who lack omega 3 end up sleeping later and less hours and this can lead to unhealthy habits such as late night snacking.


  • Berries offer nutrients that will help lose belly fat. They have a rich source of fiber and this helps fill you up without boosting your calorie intake. You could sprinkle them on your oats to create the perfect healthy breakfast.

    So I am assuming that It would be like having oatmeal and eggs for breakfast, Fish for lunch, nuts for snacks and then fish for dinner? Can you give some of the best combinations that give you results?

    1. Yes I normally have oatmeal for breakfast with cinnamon and then add blackberries and banana, but you can add fruits of your choice. You can also have smoked salmon with eggs and wholemeal bread for breakfast. Fish with rice noodles or green salad for lunch or dinner. Eggs can be added to your salads for lunch or dinner.

  2. Thanks for the information I’ve been struggling with weight loss for a long time. I eat all the foods on the list. I am glad eggs are on there; I was told many years ago that eating eggs every day was bad for you as it raises cholesterol (especially in the yolks) but I believe that myth has been busted.

    1. Hi Karin,
      Too much cholesterol is not good for you, but for most people cutting out eggs is not the solution. The British Heart Foundation suggests reducing the amount of saturated fat instead. Unless you have a condition called familial hypercholesterolaemia which means you will have double the normal levels of cholesterol then you may need to be more cautious about dietry sources of cholesterol.

  3. Berries and eggs are my favorite foods. My wife also likes berries. I also heard that berries have a lot of antioxidants and nutrients. I can already think of a few berries recipe in my head. Maybe a berry smoothie. Or use some berries to make some frozen dessert . I can also think of a lot of egg recipes. I think scrambled or simply steamed eggs are excellent. I can also go my protein based on eggs and then grab my nutrient based on berries. Thank you for the information .

  4. Berries and eggs are my favorite. I especially like berries. I make you feel so refreshed. I can already think of recipes out the top my head . I can make berries smoothies. I can also use the same berries smoothies to make frozen desserts. Blueberries raspberries strawberries and a small tablespoon of ginger juice. My mouth is already watering thinking about this. Eggs are also wonderful. scrambled eggs and steam pudding.

    Recently My tummy is getting bigger and bigger until I decided to take serious action.

    I have stopped my supper. I have workout but I didnt know that 5 foods above would also help to reduce my tummy.

    I think I am adding oats and egg into my breakfast list starting today onwards to BURN more fat in my tummy.

    Eggs for example are incredibly awesome for us men – their healthy fat profile is awesome for testosterone production. Nuts are also packed with good fats which are responsible for hormone production too.

    1. Hi Simon.
      I have nothing against fat burner as long as they are not used to replace exercise or diet. They should be used as a supplement i.e. something added to complete your exercise and diet plan rather than replace it.
